Google TV ads allow you to upload your own ad from your own PC and get it played on national TV in the US. SlateV spent a total of $1,300 on its ad, creating, planning and buying. They uploaded it and it reached 1.3 million people on US national TV. Thousands also went to the url that was advertised. How this is going to change advertising remains to be seen. Low budget ads are, historically, very bad. However, now the barriers to entry have been lowered, creative people with smaller budgets can have a go and promote their wares on national TV. The Google TV Ad Awards 2011 would make for an interesting awards show!
