LinkedIn has confirmed that it will set up its international headquarters in Dublin, joining other US digital giants like Facebook, Yahoo!, Google and Microsoft. The social network for professionals now claims over 60 million members worldwide. It is only seven years old and was founded by Reid Hoffman, who previously worked as vice president of PayPal.
LinkedIn’s new HQ in Dublin will hire people to work in the areas of marketing, sales, finance and customer service. The company currently employs around 500 people and the new job vacancies will be posted on its own website.
“Being based in Dublin gives us access to a highly skilled workforce and enables us to co-ordinate our business growth across Europe and beyond to deliver the best possible service to our members,” said Kevin Ayres, managing director of LinkedIn Europe.
