Tourism Ireland has significantly increased its online marketing spend and the results are positive. “Tourism Ireland has increased its digital marketing activity across the world and we now invest approximately 27% of our total marketing budget online,” says Brian Harte, Tourism Ireland’s Head of eMarketing.
New figures show that visits to discoverireland.com websites and microsites last year surpassed 13 million, a +34% increase in the organisation’s web activity over 2008.
“We are enhancing our website to increase its effectiveness in marketing the island of Ireland as a premier holiday destination and as a platform to help our industry partners ‘close the sale’,” says Harte.
With 41 different websites, discoverireland.com provides information to potential holidaymakers around the world in 19 different languages, covering every continent.
