Here’s the full length trailer of Director David Fincher’s The Social Network, a film about Facebook and the early days of its foundation, (the haunting cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ is by Vega Choir). Jesse Eisenberg plays Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, which already looks like perfect casting. The tagline to the movie, ‘You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies’ sets up the film’s premise nicely. Fincher is famous for such movies as Seven and Zodiac. How he handles the early days of what was to become the biggest social network on the planet remains to be seen, but the trailer hints at something full of high drama and skulduggery – not surprising considering all empires were built by individuals with an unshakeable sense of their own destiny. On the other hand, all empires eventually recede and fall. The story of Facebook is still in its infancy.
