The Irish Independent has become the first newspaper in Ireland to launch an iPad app. The app allows subscribers to download and read the ePaper edition. The app is free to download but you have to subscribe to the ePaper to read the content. Various subscription packs are available to buy from one day to one year. Ian Byrne, managing director, Independent Digital said the new iPad app was an extension of Independent’s multi-devise publishing approach. The ePaper edition is also available as an iPhone app.
