Ever wanted to talk to your car? What if your car could talk back? Science Gallery and ESB ecars have launched the ‘Electric Dreams’ competition as part of the ‘Green Machines’ exhibition at Science Gallery. The competition invites people to dream up their idea for the next generation mobile app to allow seamless communication between the driver, the smart ecar and the network of charging stations. “Ecars are super-connected cars with sophisticated communications systems allowing you, the ecar and the charge point network to interact, opening up a world of new opportunities. We’re looking for innovative ideas and the best one will be rewarded with an opportunity to drive a Mitsubishi iMiEV ecar for one month in early 2011,” says Dervla O’Flaherty, marketing and communications manager, ESB ears.
The competition runs from November 1st through to December 1st 2010. People can enter by simply going along to Science Gallery during the ‘Green Machines’ exhibition and describe, draw or sketch their idea for an ecar app using the postcards available in Science Gallery. You can also go to www.sciencegallery.com/electricdreams to enter your idea online. The ecar and a public charge point are on display in Science Gallery cafe.
