The winner of the recent international crowd-sourced competition to create a call for entry ad campaign for the ANDY Awards has been announced. The concept, “Montage Me,” beat 1,000 other entries submitted to this year’s ‘Call for Entries’ Challenge, “for its ability to inspire creatives worldwide to enter their best work to The 2011 International ANDY Awards by January 7, 2011″.
The creators of “Montage Me” are Michael Williams, Copywriter; Jyn Yi, Art Director; and Justin Gilman, Art Director, all from Leo Burnett’s Energy Pool – a recently formed group of international young creatives from the best ad and design schools around the world. The “Montage Me” (http://montageme.andyawards.com/) campaign enables entrants to cast themselves in an 1980’s-themed montage music video to one of three original soundtracks, which can be shared virally. The campaign will run online on Facebook and in digital ad banners through January 7, 2011. “Montage Me” was selected by Evan Fry, Chief Creative Officer of Victors & Spoils and ANDYs co-chairmen Ty Montague, founder of Co:Collective, and Michael Lebowitz, CEO of Big Spaceship. The campaign’s production was a creative collaboration between Leo Burnett and its marketing services arm Arc Worldwide, as well as Tool of North America, Comma, Optimus and Victors & Spoils.
This is the first global “Call for Entries” Challenge for The ANDYs, a creative contest that ran for one month on the Victors & Spoils’ digital platform Squirrel Fight (http://victorsandspoils.com/squirrelfight) and invited people worldwide to submit original ideas.
Victors & Spoils is an ad agency that crow-sources creative ideas, rather than employing a large creative department.
