The Hive, a small, creative agency founded by Jimmy Murphy in 2006 will be integrated into Publicis QMP with immediate effect.“We share a very similar creative culture with Publicis QMP and I believe they have led the way in creating an agency model for the digital age. It makes sense for us to connect with Publicis QMP and offer an improved breadth of services to our clients,” says Murphy (pictured).
Padraig Burns, MD of Publicis QMP said, “It’s an opportunity to grow our business and bring some very talented people into the agency.”
As the economic climate bites harder and harder, it is becoming more and more difficult for small, independent agencies to stay afloat. The ‘integration’ of The Hive is the latest in a series of mergers and amalgamations to hit Irish adland in recent years.
Murphy began his advertising career in Ogilvy (Bell Advertising) in 1993. From there he moved to ARKS and was appointed as an account director in 1996. He joined Cawley Nea in 1999 and joined its board in 2003. He has won 5 ADFX awards including a Grand Prix in 2004.
Publicis clients include Meteor, Cadbury, VHI, Spar, Renault and ptsb. Clients of The Hive include News International, Barnardos and Q102.
