Taking care of business on the move

The majority of Irish workers (78%) now work outside the office each week. 38% say they are “much more” productive working outside of the office and 60% believe they are “just as” productive.
Citrix Systems Ireland polled 100 workers for the survey and asked them a variety of questions relating to mobile working, the cloud and the devices they use.
56% of those surveyed said they use personal devices such as smart phones, laptops and iPads for work purposes.
97% of Irish workers are already using devices to perform everyday tasks such as banking, restaurant reservations and shopping as opposed to in person.
46% of workers reported using three or more devices on a daily basis.
74% of Irish workers still travel with a laptop but 57% now also travel with a smartphone.
10% said they travel with tablets.
80% of those who use personal devices for work take care of their own IT needs.
51% see the value in cloud computing with 28% of this group accessing applications every day.
Niall Gilmore, country manager, Citrix Systems Ireland said, “What we are seeing in Ireland is that workers are tech-savvy and they’re not afraid to use this knowledge to benefit their work ‘experience’.”
