The latest comScore video metrics are interesting. Microsoft can now claim to be the second biggest online video platform, after YouTube. Led by Bing Video, Microsoft moved from seventh place to second in February of this year, jumping ahead of Yahoo! and Facebook.Google (owner of YouTube) enjoyed 141.1 million unique video viewers in February while Microsoft received its largest-ever hit rate with 48.8 million unique viewers (see chart).
Ironically, while Bing has some exclusive video content most of the videos are aggregated from YouTube and other sites. comScore has found that 170 million Americans watched online videos in February 2011 for an average of 13.6 hours per viewer. This adds up to five billion viewing sessions.
