Profitero, a start-up based in the Media Cube Dublin, specialising in competitor monitoring, recently released an infographic that got the immediate attention of Asda, Tesco, Amazon, Argos and Dixons in the UK. The infographic compared 17,697 prices from online retailers that were collected across the UK. Profitero is now targeting the Irish online retail market.“UK consumers may be interested in Profitero’s findings that out of the retailers researched, Asda is the cheapest for ‘DIY Car and Garden’ category. However, within the categories of ‘Home Electrical’ and ‘PC and Gaming’, Amazon and Dixons are the cheapest online retailers from the sample to shop,” says Volodymyr Pigrukh, CEO of Profitero.

Competitor monitoring, which includes tracking competitors’ prices, stock availability, new and de-listed products, is a key element in price management for online and offline retailers. It is also a time consuming task. Profitero says it offers an easy to deploy web service that provides a solution in minutes.
“There is a definite need for Profitero in the Irish retail market. Irish consumers are more budget and value conscious and we aim to capture that data so the Irish shopper will be informed before they buy,” says Pigrukh.
Profitero is a company that had been recognised as “one to watch” from it’s start up phase. It was one of the winners of the European Seedcamp 2010 competition and the winner of Irish Innovation Cubed 2010.
