Here’s a clever Summer campaign/promotion from Budweiser for its Ice Cold brand that incorporates a mobile app. The hotter the Summer’s day, the less people will pay for a pint of Bud Ice Cold in a participating pub.
Consumers just have to download the mobile app. There and then they’ll receive a free pint. From then on, (until 31st August), there will be €2 off when it’s 18°C or 19°C outside, and for 16°C or 17°C weather, there will be €1 off at participating Index bars. Users can check the day’s offer via the app which will update them on the temperature of their region each day at 1pm.
“We have had such a positive response from our on-trade customers with over 2,500 participating bars nationwide,” says Christopher Wooff, senior brand manager, Budweiser.
The app is supported by ATL, POS, Digital, and PR and includes a TV commercial shot in South Africa.
