Oddsfutures.com (www.oddsfutures.com), the Irish-owned sports odds trading exchange, has announced plans to create 10 new jobs in Ireland this year.
Launched two months ago, the exchange allows people to profit from movements in horseracing markets without actually betting on the race. It has gained over 500 customers globally who have surpassed the €150,000 mark in terms of money traded.
In response to the increased levels of activity on the site, founders Marc Butterly and David Edelman (MIT) will recruit 10 staff in the areas of IT, management, sales, online marketing and finance. This will bring the total number of employees to 17 by the end of 2011.
“Though we’ve had to educate the market with little or no marketing spend, our test phase for customers has nevertheless surpassed our expectations,” says Butterly.
