Intellectual property expert and author Professor James Boyle of Duke University, USA was at the Science Gallery, Trinity College, to launch a new series designed to support the development of Ireland as a global centre for science, technology and innovation (STI).
The series was conceived as a platform where Irish and international experts can tackle topical issues facing Irish businesses in the science, technology and innovation sectors. The aim is to generate solutions and ideas that will grow Ireland’s reputation for innovative development.
Professor Boyle discussed how policies sometimes get in the way of scientific and technological innovation – actually harming businesses working in numerous fields from genetics to IT. The initiative is a partnership between law firm McCann FitzGerald and Science Gallery, Trinity College, Dublin.
