Martin Hogan, Media Cube, Cllr. Marie Baker, Michael Hayden, Dun Laoghaire County Enterprise Board and Fionnghuala Ni Neill, Blackrock Animation Festival Director at a launch to announce details of the Blackrock Animation Festival and Competition

The Blackrock Animation Festival and Competition has been announced. Organised by the Blackrock Business Network (Dublin) and supported by the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Design and Technology (IADT), the festival will include screenings and award presentations. The festival events will take place on Saturday 27th August.
The purpose of the animation festival and competition is to encourage emerging and existing talents in animation and storytelling both in Ireland and abroad.
“The Irish animation industry is hugely important to Ireland and is well regarded internationally. The talent is exeptional and we are thrilled as a town to showcase it,” said festival director, Fionnghuala Ni Neill.

Entries are called for the following six categories:
Best Animated Short for Children
Best Animated Short for Adults
Best Irish Student/Graduate Film
Best International Student/Graduate Film
Best Feature Film
Best Under 18s Film
