The Dublin Web Summit (DWS) and ESB Electric Ireland have announced the return of the Spark of Genius competition. The competition is to find the country’s most high potential tech startups.The winning company will win a support package valued at over €40k in cash and services.
“We need to reward entrepreneurship in this country and ESB Electric Ireland’s support of the Spark competition will give Irish startups a serious leg-up,” says Paddy Cosgrave, Dublin Web Summit founder.
Last year’s winner, Data Hug – who was described by tech industry bible TechCrunch as “linked in on steroids” has succeeded in gaining an international profile and is now placed to receive investment due to the competition. Data Hug co-founder, Connor Murphy said, “Winning the Spark of Genius Award changed everything for DataHug.”
The judges will put the startups through their paces. The process will feature a day of mentoring for shortlisted companies before pitching at the final front of the Dublin Web Summit audience on October 27th.
