The Irish Deaf Society has launched a new YouTube campaign for a new awards initiative which will highlight the achievements of those who are deaf or hard of hearing – the ‘Hidden Hearing Heroes Awards’.
The campaign is translated into Irish sign language and explains the eight award categories available for entry, who can nominate and the various channels through which nominations can be made.
Created by Hidden Hearing in association with the Irish Deaf Society, the ‘Hidden Hearing Heroes Awards’ is seeking nominations for those who are deaf or hard of hearing and have made a significant contribution to society, their community, workplace, family or through sporting excellence. Award categories include a social contribution award, supporter award and lifetime achievement award.
Video nominations with Irish Sign Language can be submitted to the Irish Deaf Society at awards@irishdeafsociety.ie. Nominations can also be submitted online at www.hiddenhearing.ie. The closing date for nominations is Friday 12th August and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Dublin in late August.
