Irish Wi-Fi operator Bitbuzz’s latest operating figures show the service has 466,000 registered users by the end of June 2011, a 31% growth from the 355,590 registered users at the end of December 2010. This represents a year-on-increase of 72% in registered users.The number of the firm’s Wi-Fi hotspots across the country at the end of June 2011 was 277 up from 245 at the end of 2010.
The total number of logins per month for the service now stands at 206,605, compared with 99,657 at the end of 2010. The busiest time of day for logins on the network is between 6-7pm.
The growth in logins is being driven by smart phones and tablets, says the company.
