Festival dreaming – summer coming to a close

Here at Digital Times we are casting our minds back to the recent Castle Palooza festival in Tullamore. With Electirc Picnic just around the corner and a number of boutique festival tents already packed away for another year, we thought a link between digital and the indie music scene appropriate.

The Carphone Warehouse sponsored the Courtyard area of Castle Palooza that was within the grounds of Charleville Castle. Here it featured Irish acts like the Infomatics, Two Charming Men, Bad to the Bone, Original Rudeboys and Toby Kaar. In addition it also supplied free WiFi, some amusing distractions and top-notch projection onto the walls for games and general entertainment away from the main stages.

A good chill out area, akin to Body and Soul down in Stradbally, but with a distinctly digital edge. Very cool. Here is to more of the same for the remaining lost weekends of our Irish summer.
