Facebook has received a lot of user backlash over its Timeline format. However, Facebook is going ahead with its plans to introduce Timeline for every Facebook user, whether they like it or not. Aware that Timeline is causing some controversy, Facebook has launched a new Timeline Movie Maker app that will make a movie of all the ‘best parts’ of a user’s Facebook experience.
The app requires your e-mail address, your profile info (activities, birthday, location, Likes, relationship status, religious views and work history), as well as your stories (events, photos, videos, and posts with location). It then automatically builds a one minute movie for you.
The idea behind the app is to ease users into the Timeline experience. Movies are cool, right? A movie about how great you are on your Facebook Timeline is even cooler, right? Well, Facebook hopes it will appeal to the majority of its users.
The app will initially be available in English, French, Spanish and German with five music soundtracks users can chose from to soundtrack their own mini movie.
