The professional institute for advertisers in Ireland, Institute of Advertising Practioners (IAPI), has announced the appointment of Tania Banotti as its new chief executive officer.Banotti joins from Theatre Forum Ireland where she held the position of chief executive since 2003. Reporting to Liam McDonnell, President of IAPI, Banotti’s role is to increase IAPI’s profile within government, members, media and industry partners.
“The advertising and communications sector in Ireland is experiencing one of the most challenging periods in its history,” says McDonnell. “The appointment of Tania Banotti is an exciting one for our organisation as it marks a change for our members and our industry. The IAPI Board wanted to look for someone with outstanding leadership credentials and who can credibly represent us. We believe we have found this in Tania.”
Banotti studied politics and economics in TCD, and undertook a master’s in film and television in DCU. She will take up her new post in May, 2012. She also founded and held senior roles at Screen Producers Ireland (SPI) and the National Campaign for the Arts (NCFA), where she still acts as secretary.
