The 2014 eircom Junior Spider Awards are open for entries from primary and post primary schools across Ireland.

The junior Spiders aim to showcase how students embrace the Web and to show innovative ways they use it both in school and in their daily lives.

“:I welcome any initiative that encourages the integration of technology in education,” said Ruairi Quinn, Minister for Education and Skills, T.D., about the awards.

The awards are divided into three main categories: The Mega Spiders aimed at primary level; and the Giga and Tera Spiders which are aimed at post primary level. The Giga Spiders are open to 1st to 3rd year students and the Tera Spiders are open to 4th to 6th year students.

This year, there is a new award in the Tera Spider category – Best Digital Game.
