Me2U is a new smartphone app developed by AIB that allows person-to-person (phone-to-phone) payments.

To use the app, people just need a personal Visa debit/credit card. They do not need to share their bank details with the app. The idea is to make sending money to people as easy as texting.

“It’s a useful app that makes transferring money easy and we believe it will become part of our customers’ everyday lives,” says Brian Keating, brand director, AIB.

There is a daily limit of €300 euro – and while the senders of money have to be AIB customers, the recipients don’t.

The app is available on iTunes and Android and to become a user you must register on AIB Internet banking and have a valid euro AIB Visa debit or credit card. See video below.
