Maybe Chrome is not your favorite browser, but nobody can deny that the number of useful applications developed by Google is huge, and always increasing. It´s important to highlight that Remote Desktop is multi-platform, that is to say, it is compatible with Windows, OS X, Linux and Chromebook. One such application (in beta mode) is Chrome Remote Desktop, a unique extension for Chrome users, that allows users to control several computers remotely from their browser.
It´s important to highlight that Remote Desktop is multi-platform, that is to say, it is compatible with Windows, OS X, Linux and Chromebook.
Using this application you can manage other computers in your network regardless of your operating system, which is a big advantage over other similar tools, such as ‘Join Me’.

How does it work?
The extension is still in beta, and Google expects feedback from users in order to solve potential problems. However, so far it seems to be quite stable.
Once all the computers that are going to be connected have downloaded and installed the application, one of them generates a code for the connection. When the others enter this code, the computers can see and start managing the desktop of the others, directly from the browser window. The extension also includes Google Talk, so users can send messages between computers.
To learn how to use it step by step, see here.

New way
Certainly there are many uses that this type of application can have, such as technical assistance or allowing users to work remotely from home.
It seems obvious that such extensions are (bit by bit) leading us all into the Cloud, the new way of working and being connected.

Download here.

Descargar.

The Cloud is still in its infancy and as such isn’t fully trusted by many established businesses. 83% of businesses questioned for a survey* conducted by CloudArena, consider security or perceived security threats as their primary concern when switching to Cloud computing.
Despite this, 60% of the respondents indicated that Cloud computing is included in their current IT strategy. Additionally, 45% felt that switching to Cloud computing would yield improved competitive advantage.
To address these issues, CloudArena will be hosting CloudArena Trilogy Part Two to discuss the advantages of Cloud computing in customer relationship management. The event will be held on June 16th from 1 p.m. at the National College of Ireland in Dublin.
Speakers at the event will include Cloud computing experts from IBM, Microsoft & Fujitsu.
