Jobbio, the digital and mobile job application and hiring platform, has released a new iOS app.

The app allows users to create a multimedia C.V., search on their mobile for jobs near them, or around the country, and apply for them there and then and have in app communication with potential employers.

“We believe it is the future of how people will discover and apply for jobs,” says Stephen Quinn, co-founder and CEO of Jobbio.

Jobbio, which launched in late 2013, has more than 50,000 registered Irish users and more than 290 companies on board including TripAdvisor, Salesforce and The Bank of Ireland.

Most desired places to work
To coincide with the iPhone app launch, Jobbio commissioned a survey* to find out where people would like to work and how many people search for a new job each year.

34% of those surveyed said that Google is their dream work location, followed by Apple at 13% and Microsoft at 10%. Facebook and eBay ranked fourth and fifth respectively. The survey also found that only 13% of us are working in our dream job, and a staggering 83% of us search for a better job at least once a year.

72% of those surveyed deemed it to be very important to be able to use a smartphone or tablet to search for and apply for jobs on the move.

*The survey completed by Panel Edge polled 446 adults over the age of 18, made up of a representative sample of 300 Irish adults and supplemented by a sample of 146 respondents who were currently seeking a job.
