Former Irish Presidential candidate Sean Gallagher (@seangallagher1) will speak at the Media Future conference on May 15th, 2012. It will be the first time Gallagher has publicly discussed, in detail, his experiences in the last presidential election and the circumstances surrounding what happened on RTÉ’s Frontline programme.

‘Twittergate’ remians one of the biggest media stories of the last year and Gallagher will speak for the first time about what happened on the night of the last presidential debate in October 2011. Gallagher’s appearance will be by way of an interview that will take a look at his presidential election campaign and, in particular, will focus on the dramatic, very damaging role social media and the Frontline debate played in the final result.

Other speakers @mediafutureconf will include Conor White-Sullivan, director of editorial technology for Huffington Post Media Group; Josh Macht, group publisher, Harvard Business Review; Raju Narisetti managing editor, The Wall Street Journal Digital Network; and Bilal Randeree; online and social media producer, Al Jazeera English.
