PayPal has opened its operations centre in Dundalk and welcomed nearly 60 employees to the site.

“Today, 60 people started working here and by the end of this year we will have over 200 people in Dundalk with 1,000 by 2015,” says Louise Phelan, vice president of global operations for PayPal in EMEA.

She said that the employees were joining at an exciting time for the company. “Our vision is to help people pay for things anytime, anywhere and on any device connected to the internet,” she added. PayPal is already competing with Google and ISIS in mobile phone payments, an area which is set to experience massive growth.

The Dundalk office is responsible for customer service, risk operations, merchant services and sales across EMEA. PayPal is seeking to fill roles in customer support, operations, finance, sales and compliance.  More information about these jobs can be found at www.paypaljobsireland.com or  www.jobs.ebaycareers.com

The new Dundalk Operations Centre is eBay Inc.’s third site in Ireland, complementing PayPal and eBay locations in Dublin. PayPal’s European operation centre opened in Dublin in 2003. Since then the number of staff has increased from just 25 to more than 1,400 today.
