Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer could’ve been mistaken for a Late Late Show host as he announced ‘there was one for everybody in the audience’ at the recent annual employee conference in Seattle.
The crowd were delighted as they learned that all of Microsoft’s 94,000+ permanent employees worldwide will receive a new PC running Windows 8, a Surface tablet and a Windows 8 phone of their choosing.
The meeting was not open to the public or the media but over excited employees quickly took to social media sites to boast about their new bounty. The news was no doubt welcomed by Microsoft employees in Dublin as they arrived to work on Friday.
As well as boosting employee morale, Microsoft hopes that 90,000 workers showing off their new devices will help its tablets and phones become popular with consumers.
