There is no exact ‘science’ to Twitter i.e. when, where and how people should tweet. There is, however, a decent understanding of human behaviour and time keeping and an infographic from digital agency Raka, based on research by bitly, called ‘The best times to tweet or post on Facebook’ may come in handy for those who use Twitter and Facebook to promote their business, product or brand.
Raka has used the URL shortener bitly’s report on ‘best times to tweet’ and created an infographic. We all love infographics, don’t we? Bitly found the best times to tweet for click-throughs are early afternoon Monday–Thursday, while Facebook content posted Wednesday at 3pm generates the highest click-through rates.
“Posting after 8pm should be avoided. Specifically, don’t bother posting after 3pm on a Friday since, as far as being a gateway to drive traffic to your content, it appears that Twitter doesn’t work on weekends,” says bitly on its blog.
