The TV experience is optimised for the mobile screen and is only available for iOS and Android platforms. Users will only be able to watch TV over 3G or Wi-Fi.
“Using the latest web technologies to deliver a native app type experience through the web browser gives us more control over content and streaming while also maximising our rights position,” says TV3 director of online, Stephen Grant.
Users can go to tv3.ie/3player to watch TV3 shows and by clicking on the bookmark icon the 3player icon is saved to their home screen so it looks like an app and acts like an app (once you have 3G or WiFi).
