With the launch of Windows Phone 7 Microsoft has successfully changed the game, and introduced the word/catchphrase ‘Really’ to the international lexicon via its latest ad campaign. By building a smart phone operating system from scratch, Microsoft has ‘reinvented its place’ in the smart phone market. Phone 7 will apparently change this.
“Windows Phone 7 breaks the current smart phone convention to help people quickly and easily find and consume data, information and services from the Web and applications,” says the company. The new phones also integrate Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Office Mobile, Zune, Windows Live, Bing and more. HTC and Samsung handsets will carry the Windows Phone 7 OS in Europe. Steve Jobs & Co. over at Apple Corp. will be examining the Phone 7 in great detail and, no doubt, picking up a few tips on the way.
