Here’s an app for all you drivers. Easytrip, the company that sells electronic tolling tags, has developed a SOS app, a breakdown assistance app that can help stranded drivers.

The app puts the driver in touch with easytrip’s traffic control centre which pinpoints the location of the breakdown, assesses the gravity of the situation and transmits the GPS coordinates and other information to the relevant roadside assistance organisation.

“When you see the extreme weather we’ve had this winter, it’s no exaggeration to say that the app could save somebody’s life one of these days or nights,” says Ciara O’Brien, general manager of easytrip.

The app is available on Android and iOS.
