Kraft takes leap of faith with iPad app

A dollar for a follower with TwitVid


TwitVid, the Twitter video hosting service, has launched its own video advertising network. The network is called SocialAds and it collects followers and retweets for its clients’ ad campaigns. “Traditional means of monetising video has heavily relied on pre-roll ads, which work great for premium content but can be quite suffocating for an end user who may only be trying to watch a short video,” said Mo Al Adham, co-founder of TwitVid. Facebook adds child protection button


Facebook has teamed up with the UK’s Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre to provide young Facebook users with access to a reporting facility and advice centre.
Young teenagers can now access the CEOP’s reporting centre – ClickCEOP – via an application that can be bookmarked or placed on a user’s homepage. The app will appear as a very visible ClickCEOP button. It is hoped the button will a strong visual signal to their friends, family and others that they are in control online. Read More »

Is Google wasting its time chasing Facebook?


Google’s latest large scale attempt to challenge the rise of Facebook is rumored to be a project entitled ‘Google Me’. However, as Facebook continues to stomp across the planet gobbling up new users at a rate of millions per day, is Google simply barking up the wrong tree?
Facebook was started in a Harvard dorm a mere six years ago by Mark Zuckerberg. 15 months ago it had 200 million users. Now it has nearly 500 million users and Zuckerberg recently said this figure will soon rise to one billion. A billion?
