Six Dublin companies to compete for AIB JumpStart 2013

The shortlist for the ‘AIB JumpStart 2013’ competition has been announced.

Performance Metrics Ltd.; Cortechs; My Money Platform; Lucky Sods; Beat Your Manager! Fantasy Games Ltd.; and Creeper Crawlers will compete for the JumpStart 2013 prize of €25,000 – sponsored by the LINC, AIB and FCEB.

Those shortlisted will be finally judged on Thursday 14th November, They will present their ideas to Bobby Kerr; Louise Phelan, VP, Global Operations EMEA, PayPal; Ronan Foley, manager, Allied Irish Bank; Lorraine O’Mahoney, Allied Irish Bank; Oisin Geoghegan, CEO Fingal County Enterprise Board; and Declan Lyons, technology infrastructure programme manager, Enterprise Ireland.

Details of AIB JumpStart 2013 shortlist

Performance Metrics Ltd.
Based in Rathfarnham and founded by Fergal Brehony Performance Metrics Ltd. is a cloud based performance management tool that enables a company to X-Ray their business from top to bottom. Current customers include Aer Arann, Uniphar, Pfizer, Actavis and Cloud 90. Revenue is derived from annual recurring licence fees and through trademark & patent protected processes & reports and a scoring system. Reseller agreements are in place and the franchising of the model is being mapped-out in association with the Chairman of the Irish Franchise Association.

Founded by Áine Behan in September 2013 and based in Castleknock, Cortechs works with multinational gaming companies looking to push the technical limits of current gaming solutions, Cortechs will create next-generation products by integrating ‘brainwave sensing’ into games to measure and provide feedback cues for stress/focus levels within gaming scenarios.

Sean McNulty created MyMoneyPlatform in May 2013 – a new web-based application that allows users to conduct their own personal financial review in three easy steps.
1) User enters their data,
2) User is given a journey of their own finances and
3) user receives prioritised list of recommendations on how they should address shortfalls in their finances.

Lucky Sods
Gavin Curran from Malahide launched Lucky Sods just over seven months ago. Lucky Sods create a selection of products made from Irish peat and straw which has been sourced in the west of Ireland. Lucky Sods – ‘A true piece of Irish heritage’.

Beat Your Manager! Fantasy Games Ltd.
Padraig Doolan Applewood formed Fantasy Games Ltd just over a year ago with Beat Your Manager which is a smartphone app-based gaming platform, where users select their favorite club, pick line ups and make substitutions during the live match. By tracking game activity, this product delivers real-time consumer information (“fanalytics”) on what fans are thinking about the broadcast match.

Creeper Crawlers T/A Narom Ltd.
Ollwyn Moran Templeogue launched Creeper Crawlers in February of this year. A company that promotes healthy brain development for babies, blending science with insight. Their first product to market wass The Crawl Suit – an easy grip suit that provides traction for babies on wooden and tile floors.

The winner of the AIB JumpStart 2013 Award will be announced the evening of the final judging on Thursday 14th November 2013.
