Over 20 Irish business leaders have already signed up to Focus Ireland’s bid to raise up to half a million euro for homeless prevention services.

This is the charity’s inaugural Shine A Light campaign and was launched with help from Sean Egan, CEO Aviva Ireland, John Reynolds, CEO of KBC Bank and Gina Quin, CEO at the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

Focus Ireland’s Shine A Light will take the form of a sponsored sleep out in Dublin City Centre’s Iveagh Gardens on the 19th of October. Each executive participating will raise or donate 5,000 euro to help combat and prevent homelessness.

It’s hoped that up to 100 CEOs will take part, raising vital funds for Focus Ireland as well as shining a light on the issue of homelessness.

“We’re calling on Ireland’s business leaders to help us shine a light on homelessness and provide support for the vital lifeline services we provide. Worryingly 1 in 7 currently using homeless services is a child and last year we helped more than 7,500 people. We could not do this without quality partnerships and support from corporates,” says Lisa-Nicole Dunne, director of fundraising and marketing at Focus Ireland.
