As more firms – big, medium, and small – adapt to the new realities of remote working there is an ever-increasing demand for unified communication solutions that are cloud-based, flexible, scalable and secure.

What are unified communications you may ask – essentially it’s communication and collaboration combined. It’s as close as one can get to creating an office environment when your team are all working from home in different locations.

Thanks to a surge in demand, the Galway-based firm Avaya and its sister business RingCentral are expanding at a rapid rate. They have just announced the expansion of Avaya Cloud Office by RingCentral across Europe. Also, the companies say they have signed their first seven-figure deal with a large Government customer in the UK.

Work from anywhere on any device
Sometimes Zoom just doesn’t cut the mustard. Businesses are now looking for secure and robust solutions with customer service at their core.

“There has never been a more important time for communication and collaboration solutions that enable people to work from anywhere and across a wide range of devices,” says Aidan Furlong, country general manager, Avaya Ireland. “Businesses want a connected and collaborative workforce and the right tools for the job.”

The timing couldn’t be better
Many workers and, indeed, company owners have embraced remote working as something positive. The timing for Avaya Cloud Office couldn’t be better. “The need for modern cloud communications has become more pronounced since we launched Avaya Cloud Office in March 2020, with many organisations realising the benefits of a powerful UCaaS (unified communications as a service) solution,” says Phil Sorgen, chief revenue officer, RingCentral. “Avaya Cloud Office helps meet the communications needs of these organisations, and we continue to see adoption as we roll it out worldwide.”

According to an IDC Europe forecast, UCaaS will grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 23.3% between 2019 and 2023, higher than 17.1% as anticipated during the pre-COVID-19 period. Avaya Cloud Office is now available in France, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
