Techies4TempleStreet 2020 is set to hit the streets of Dublin on Friday, September 18. The physical and virtual corporate treasure trail has a new format to ensure social-distancing and keep all participants safe.
Now in its sixth year, the event has raised over €1.1 million to support sick children in CHI at Temple Street.
The event will see teams from some of Ireland’s leading companies make their way across the city to chase clues, solve puzzles and complete a whole range of challenges and brain-teasers in the hope of claiming the title of ‘Ireland’s Smartest Techies’ – an accolade that went to ‘Zen Mob’, representing Zendesk, in 2019.
Teams will join together online after the event to take a look back at the day’s fun, enjoy some tasty food and games and to hear who has won the Techies4TempleStreet 2020 Trophy.
Techies4TempleStreet will see teams of five from Ireland’s technology and business communities compete to win the coveted trophy. As well as being a fun-filled and stimulating event, T4TS is an ideal team-building day as colleagues combine brain power to gain points, complete challenges and bid to win the trophy.
All the funds raised are put to work where they are needed most to buy vital, life-saving equipment and help fund essential facilities and supports – benefitting sick children and their families when they need it most.
“It’s great that Techies4TempleStreet 2020 is going ahead with a new format to ensure that all teams can take part in the day’s fun and games in a safe and socially-distanced way,” says Temple Street ambassador Jamie Heaslip.
“This event raises vital funds every year to support the incredible, life-saving work that happens in CHI at Temple Street every minute of every day. More than ever, the hospital needs your support and hope that Ireland’s tech and business sectors will once again come out on September 18 to take part in this unique and truly worthy cause.”
Techies4TempleStreet has been warmly embraced by the country’s business and tech communities and has become an annual tradition for so many companies. The lead sponsor of the event is AIB. “The funds raised at this year’s Techies4TempleStreet will go to support little patients and their families in CHI at Temple Street and will help support the essential, life-saving work that happens in our hospital, every minute of every day,” says Denise Fitzgerald, chief executive of Temple Street Foundation.
